“With the support of my husband and
two daughters over the years I have been able to truly live my
passion daily at Healthy Mothers/Healthy Babies. To be honored
by the Executive Women of the Palm Beaches is beyond my dreams!
Thank you!.”
Cathy Cohn is the President/CEO of Healthy Mothers/Healthy
Babies Coalition of Palm Beach County, a non-profit organization
established in 1986 in response to 900 women in Palm Beach
County who delivered their babies at local hospital emergency
rooms with little or no prenatal care. Many of these births
resulted in low birth-weight babies, increased infant deaths
and/or lifelong disabilities. Providing access to prenatal care
and education is the cornerstone of the agency. Under Cathy’s
direction during the last nineteen years, these services were
greatly expanded.
Cathy has grown Healthy Mothers/Healthy Babies from a $75,000
budget to over $5 million, expanding the operation to a
multi-office organization totaling 75 employees. She broadened
the mission of the agency to not only provide access to prenatal
care, but to offer a wide array of programs and services for the
families for whom she so passionately advocates. She has
directed the creation of seventeen additional programs and
services that promote education and support to parents in their
efforts to provide healthy, stable, and loving environments in
which to raise children.
Cathy is well respected in her field and has received
significant recognition for her groundbreaking efforts as a true
visionary in the community. She remains an active member of her
community through her role at Healthy Mothers/Healthy Babies.
Cathy is also involved in numerous other community projects and
committees.
Cathy has been married to Steven for the past 32 years and has
two grown daughters, Cortney and Carrie. |
