“I am deeply honored to be recognized by
Executive Women of
the Palm Beaches, a group of my peers, to receive the 2007
Women in Leadership Award for the Public Sector. I am privileged
to share the values of commitment to community, collaboration
of resources and strength of character with every member.”
Sharon R. Bock, Esq. was elected to the office of Clerk
of the Circuit Court in November 2004 after serving as
Chief Deputy Clerk for nearly seven years. After taking office
in 2005, she
modified the name of the office to Clerk & Comptroller, to more
accurately
reflect this Constitutional Office’s duties, services and public
purpose.
Prior to entering public service, Sharon practiced real estate
law and owned
a title company. She earned her law degree from South Texas
College of
Law, where she served as Assistant Managing Editor of the Law
Review. She
also holds a Bachelors degree from Slippery Rock University.
Sharon has comprehensive finance and investment knowledge having
earned her securities and insurance licenses, and she also holds
a real estate
sales license. Her broad financial knowledge has allowed her to
more fully
develop the Comptroller function of the office which includes
Treasury and
Audit departments, Financial Reporting and Accounting. Bock also
serves
as Clerk of the Circuit Court, County Recorder and Clerk to the
Board of
County Commissioners. She is committed to a program of public
education
and awareness that promotes transparency and accountability in
County
government.
Sharon takes an active leadership role in her community by
building community
partnerships with organizations such as the American Heart
Association, Junior Achievement, and the George Mason University
School
of Public Policy. As a result of these partnerships, the Clerk &
Comptroller’s
office is starting a walk-at-work program, mentoring children
throughout
our community, and releasing an Economic Index which contains
useful
financial data specific to Palm Beach County.
Sharon Bock lives with her husband, Tony Gigliotti, and her dog,
Missy, just
a mile away from her parents on Singer Island. |
