The WILA committee is proud and excited to announce that America's most recognized and trusted television personality will be the keynote speaker for the Women In Leadership Awards Luncheon, Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach.
As host of Good Morning America for nearly 20 years, she covered four presidents, five Olympics, two royal weddings and reported from 26 countries. Lunden remains the longest running host on early morning television and continues to be a reassuring and informative presence in American homes as the host of Lifetime Television’s Health Corner, where she educates women on important issues such as improving health, childcare, nutrition and medicine. She recently hosted RLTV’s Taking Care, a series dedicated to caregivers across
America; Lifetimes’ Health Corner and the CW Emmy-winning special
’s Invisible Children.
As an award-winning television journalist, New York Times bestselling author, sought-after motivational speaker, successful entrepreneur, and one of America’s most recognized and trusted television personalities, and mother of seven, Lunden has, and continues to do it all. She has worked tirelessly on children’s safety and health issues and recently launched a child safety product. Her latest venture is a wellness retreat for women called Camp Reveille.
Camp Reveille is a retreat where women can recharge, re-energize through camaraderie, renew a sense of self, jump start fitness, and learn the skills needed to achieve a healthier balance in their lives. Joan hosts the long-weekend getaway and now brings this wellness retreat to other venues across the country.
As a rising entrepreneur, Lunden introduced a home décor collection Joan Lunden Home on QVC in 2010 and it continues to sell on QVC, QVC.com, Walmart.com. and Amazon.com; she has a skincare line, Resurgence by the popular Murad Skincare; she launched a child safety product, Kinderkord, designed to help parents and children stay connected, sold in children stores across nationwide; and every day, women visit her website JoanLunden.com for health, wellness, and lifestyle tips, family information and parenting advice.
Lunden has served as national spokesperson for campaigns with Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the American Lung Association, The American Red Cross and the
American Academyof Pediatrics, and spearheaded campaigns on colon cancer prevention for the Colon Cancer Alliance and Amgen, and on Type 2 diabetes for Eli Lilly.
